LAURA’S design Philosophy

Laura has a unique background, with roots in the South (Nashville) and formative years spent in the Northeast. She is an NCIDQ certified interior designer whose design philosophy is influenced by her passion for art, history, literature, and fashion. With her highly attuned eye and knowledge of historical and contemporary context, she's able to quickly home in on a project’s design aesthetic and capture its true spirit. She strives to make each project unique to her clients, but the common thread is her ability to mix styles with a heavy emphasis on art. Laura has turned her focus exclusively to residential design, but her experience includes and is nourished by a variety of projects including hospitality, corporate, and retail, resulting in multiple award-winning designs.

Since opening her eponymous firm, she has been nationally published with features in Luxe Magazine, House Beautiful, Rue Magazine, Southern Living, Architectural Digest’s Clever, named a Rising Star by Atlanta Magazine’s HOME, and has been honored to win multiple ASID Design Excellence Awards. She was also named to the Luxe Gold List and has been a two-time finalist in the Southeastern Designer of the Year Awards sponsored by ADAC and Veranda Magazine.

background & studio notes

Laura has a bachelor’s of fine arts with concentrations in interior design and art history from Georgia State University and she has also served on the Georgia Chapter board of ASID as Finance Director. Upon graduation, Laura cut her teeth at Ferry, Hayes & Allen Designers and later became an Associate at tvsdesign. Laura honed her boutique hospitality skills working at Square Feet Studio as a Senior Designer. While at Square Feet Studio, she designed multiple award-winning projects including Bread & Butterfly, The Mercury, Bar Americano, and Staplehouse. Prior to launching her own firm, she also consulted with MT Studio Architecture as their acting Design Director.

Now focused on residential projects as well as an occassional boutique commercial project, she has a full service interior design studio. While managing their own interior design projects, the studio also frequently collaborates with various architects around the city and beyond. Laura and team are currently working on multiple residential projects including new build homes, full home renovations, and full home ff&a focused projects in Atlanta, Charleston, California, New York, and beyond.

In her free time, Laura enjoys all facets of design along with music, art, studying French & British history, reading, riding horses, and spending time with her husband McLean, who is an artist & architect with McAlpine, their son, and their standard poodle Louis XIV (named after the Sun King, of course).
